US tycoon Donald Trump has shown his anger over plans to build an offshore wind farm near his multi-million pound links golf course in Scotland.

Yesterday the 11-wind turbine European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre off Aberdeen Bay submitted a consent application for the area off the coast of what Donald Trump had hoped could become a future Open Championship course.

Located off Aberdeen Bay, the joint venture say the EOWDC would accelerate the development of offshore wind power.

The New York real-estate developer had said he had been promised that wind turbines would not be built. In a statement he said: “I was repeatedly promised, as an incentive for us to go forward and proceed with this project, that wind turbines would not be destroying and distorting the magnificent coastline. I am now learning that this issue has again raised its ugly head.”
