Vattenfall has generated the first electricity from its wind farm off the Cumbria coast. Construction of the 30-turbine Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm began in 2010. Councillor John Murphy, Mayor of Barrow-in-Furness, said the new farm confirmed the region’s role as “part of the Energy Coast.”
