Plans for Europe’s largest ever solar plant have been given the green light in Germany. Q-Cells SE will build a 91MW array in Brandenburg-Briest, to the west of Berlin. Comprising of three projects Q-Cells hope to complete the array in just eight weeks.

A total of around 22,500 houses will be powered by the renewable energy from the solar park, cutting out approximately 50,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. The project is being constructed on the site of the former Brandenburg-Briest military airbase, which is around 200 hectares in size.
