International infrastructure group Balfour Beatty has been awarded a contract, approximately worth £290m, to replace an electricity transmission line between Beauly and Wharry Burn in North-Eastern Scotland.

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Limited, a subsidiary of SSE have appointed Balfour Beatty to install the 200km double circuit which will carry 400kV on an overhead transmission line. It is scheduled to be completed in 2015.

Balfour Beatty has more than a century’s worth of experience of installing infrastructure projects in Scotland.
