A group of 600 US activists marched to Philadelphia Governor Tom Corbett’s office yesterday to question him about the shutdown of three oil refineries.

This follows the Governor’s lack of action to get answers from fuel providers, Sunoco and ConocoPhillips, who announced the shutdown of the refineries all based in or near Philadelphia.

Reports say the closure of the three refineries, which process more than 700,000 barrels a day of oil, will affect 2,500 workers employed at the refineries and the surrounding communities.
