Scottish Water has announced the sudden death of its chief executive Richard Ackroyd. Mr Ackroyd has been Chief Executive of the Scottish utility for almost five years.
In a statement today the firm said it was “with great sadness” its executive leadership team and Chairman Ronnie Mercer would take over “with immediate effect” and that its workforce has been informed.
The statement went on: “Richard leaves a wife and two young sons. We would ask for privacy for the family while we all come to terms with this loss. The thoughts of everyone at Scottish Water are with his family and friends.”
