Global energy management specialist Schneider Electric has been named one of the top five leaders in the world for its software.

Along with four other suppliers, CA Technologies, CarbonSystems, IBM and Verisae, its technology was praised for working well with a wide range of meters and controls plus its functionality and utility bill management.

The “Green Quadrant Report” report by independent analyst firm Verdantix was based on data from live product demonstrations, a 134 point questionnaire and interviews with an independent customer panel.

Software to cut back energy costs is becoming far more tailored, according to the analysts.

Janet Lin, Senior Manager and Co-Head of the Energy Practice at Verdantix said: “Big investments in better domain-specific energy management functionality for data centres and real estate portfolios, easier integration with controls and meters as well as more scalable data architectures have reshaped the market in the last 18 months.”

She added: “Schneider Electric has clearly positioned itself as a leader in the Energy Management Software field by understanding the marketplace and creating solutions that meet the growing demands of this sector.”
