An Aberdeen-based shipping company has bagged a contract worth £63 million to support BP’s operations in the North Sea.

Under the five year contract, North Star Shipping – a division of the global shipping and energy services firm The Craig Group – will provide tanker assistance, platform supply and energy and response rescue ships. Four vessels, including the Grampian Dee (pictured), have been contracted for the deal.

Douglas Craig, Chairman and Managing Director of the Craig Group said: “The vessels meet BP’s expectations in terms of safety, operability and efficiency and we continue to look for ways to provide the most innovative, cost effective solutions for all our customers.”

The Craig Group fleet, operated by North Star, now has 35 vessels in service.
