An environmental conference run by Green Cross International is to be broadcast around the world via an online live stream.
The 7th Earth Dialogues conference marks the 20th anniversary of the organisation founded by former Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev in 1993.
The group was created to foster international co-operation and find solutions to shared problems that cross borders. A key concern is the relationship between conflict and the environment, from disputes over scarce resources to the environmental cost of war.
The former Kyrgyzstan President Rosa Otunbayeva, acclaimed French oceans advocate Jean-Michel Cousteau and Sri Lankan Mohan Munasinghe, the Vice-Chairman of the Nobel Peace Prize winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will all join Mikhail Gorbachev on the panel.
The event will be held at the United Nations in Geneva on the 3rd of September.
