Thames Water’s commercial director Piers Clark is set to make waves when he takes to the stage at Energy Live 2013 in November.

The business water supply sector is on the cusp of a transformation as regulators try to flush stagnant business contracts out of the British water system by bringing in more competition.

It’s bound to be fascinating to hear what else Thames Water might have in store on that front.

Mr Clark will have had a hand in the company’s ground-breaking conquest in Scotland earlier this year when it won a water supply contract with a Scottish hotel chain.

Back in 2012 the firm won licences from the water regulators Ofwat – which deals with England and Wales – and WICS in Scotland to work across England, Scotland and Wales.

The water expert has been with Thames Water since March 2010, previously heading up a team of 3,000 at infrastructure and business services firm Mouchel, working on everything to do with services in the water, energy, environment and rail sectors.

Before this he had roles at Atkins Water and North West Water (now known as United Utilities).

To make sure you don’t miss out on a tide of water insight, come along to Energy Live 2013 on 7 November at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden.
