Danish wind firm Vestas has scored another contract to supply 150MW of turbines to the US this week.

It signed a deal for 75 2MW turbines for US firm First Wind’s Route 66 project near Amarillo, Texas, with the potential for an additional 568MW.

Vestas said the order is part of a “master supply agreement” that could see it supply up to 568MW of capacity for multiple projects.

The news comes after the Danish firm secured a two-year service agreement contract from ScottishPower Renewables for five wind power plants in Scotland earlier this week.

Deliveries are expected in early 2015 and commissioning in the middle of the year.
