Thursday June 19th is the date for the second Energy Live Consultancy Awards night and we are delighted to say the entry process has begun.

Once again a massive thanks to npower who for the second year in a row are our headline sponsors.

We launched TELCA to showcase the great work that the consultancy sector is doing for businesses when it comes to energy and we’re delighted npower share our goals of highlighting best practice.

Wayne Mitchell, npower’s I&C Sales and Marketing Director said: “Energy consultants and brokers form a significant part of our customer base and as we move towards ‘solution provider of choice’ we will be working innovatively with TPIs to offer unique propositions to meet the customer needs. We are very proud to be championing TELCAs for the second year in a row.”

This year we will have a couple of new awards and you can find all the details as ever on the TELCA site. For nearly all the awards, applications are made online and this year there is no need to fill in forms! Just choose the award you want to enter, fill in the details online and best of luck!

One of the biggest changes will be in the Consultancy of the Year category, where we will be dividing the entries into small and large consultancies. A Small Consultancy is a consultancy of less than 20 staff, irrespective of whether you provide services to the SME or I&C sector. Any other size of consultancy falls into the Large category.

Last year we had a public vote, this time it’s even easier. Get your customers to nominate you! All you need is to get THREE of your customers to nominate you and you’re away in either category. We will be having a series of regional finals for these awards, so watch out for details in the coming weeks.

As before the judging is very thorough and a two stage process. First all entries will be verified and ratified before being submitted to the shortlisting panel of judges who are all energy managers. They will then draw up a shortlist which will then be submitted to our second independent judging panel who will choose the winners. I am delighted to say Mervyn Bowden will return as Chair of Judges and both Angela Knight CEO of Energy UK and Louise Kingham  CEO of the Energy Institute will be reprising their roles on the finalist panel. More judges will be announced in due course.

Finally some dates for your diary, entries are open now and will stay open until April 4. Nominations close at noon. The shortlist will be announced on May 8. Our second independent juding panel will decide the final winners on June 12 and our awards night will be on June 19.

TELCA night itself will be another amazing spectacle and this year our awards ceremony will be held at the BFI on London’s Southbank before we return by popular request to the SS Silver Sturgeon for our aftershow party on the Thames.

Good luck and get your entries in!
