India has reportedly planned to set up a solar manufacturing facility at a new park in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Solar Energy Corporation in India is said to spearhead the development, which will be built on a 5,000 acre site with a 1GW of production power capacity. Reports claim the solar units will have a capacity of 10MW and above.

The company has signed an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Industrial and will hold an auction to award the 1GW solar power capacity to developers.

The solar park will be located in the Mahboonagar district of the southern state.
