Fracking firm Cuadrilla has submitted a planning application for a second shale gas exploration site in Lancashire.

The proposal for the Roseacre Wood site covers the works required to drill, hydraulically fracture and test the flow of gas from up to four exploration wells in the area.

The company previously submitted a similar application for a site at Preston New Road.

Cuadrilla said it has also put forward a detailed Environmental Statement (ES) following an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) produced by consultants Arup.

Both the application and the ES will be available to the public once validated by the council, which is expected to be within two weeks.
