The maker of electric car charging points has renewed its promise of free home charging for customers.

Chargemaster said it would go on installing the Homecharge i 3kW charging point without charge thanks to a new £9 million government scheme.

The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme requires homes to own or have on order a plug-in vehicle and runs until 31st March 2015, or until the total funding has been spent.

David Martell, Chargemaster Founder and Chief Executive said: “The ability for electric car drivers to have easy access to charging at home and across the UK is key to the reduction of carbon emissions nationally, as well as improving air quality, particularly in urban areas.”

The government cash will be dished out to domestic charging points between 1 September 2014 and 31 March 2015.
