Scratching your head as to why the four letters ESOS keep popping up in your inbox or news feed?

new guide explaining what it is has been launched by the Energy Institute.

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is the UK Government’s way of falling in line with Article 8 of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive, which makes energy audits mandatory for large organisations.

This will affect thousands of organisations in the UK, those with either 250 or more employees or a yearly turnover and balance sheet of €50m and €43m respectively.

Sarah Beacock, Skills and Capability Director at the Energy Institute said: “The real value of an ESOS audit to UK business lies in the implementation of the identified energy saving measures. To do that they will need to call upon experts with a broad range of skills, knowledge and experience that focus on delivering savings to clients.”
