Panasonic Eco Solutions has teamed up with Coronal Group to buy a solar project in Ontario, Canada.

The 6MW Balsam Lake solar farm is currently under construction in the city of Kawartha Lakes.

When completed, the project – part of the Ontario Power Authority’s Feed-in Tariff Programme – will generate enough electricity to power around 550 homes every year.

Walter Buzzelli, Panasonic Eco Solutions Canada Managing Director said: “The project opens the opportunity to build our portfolio with clients seeking a one-stop-shop for expertise in solar PV engineering, construction, finance, operations and management – a streamlined, renewable energy solution that is an efficient and reliable platform to lower energy costs.”

Commercial operation of the solar farm is scheduled for 2015.
