The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has bought a wind farm with a total capacity of 16MW in Scotland.

The eight-turbine Earlseat project is located near Kirkcaldy in Fife and benefits from the UK’s Renewable Obligation Certificate support scheme.

Vestas will provide the operations and maintenance services and a power purchase agreement is in place with GDF Suez.

Helen Mahy, who chairs the group said: “This recently commissioned project in Central Scotland provides investors with the benefits of further scale and diversification in line with the company’s investment policy.”

TRIG is expected to pay around £32 million subject to certain performance adjustments over 18 months.
