French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has declared the “fight against climate change” a “major national cause”

During his closing speech at the third Environmental conference, Manuel Valls put an emphasis on a low carbon energy plan and a multi annual energy plan.

The Prime Minister declared to put in place a rating system for cars in France based on their carbon emissions – with the potential for people to get a bonus for converting from diesel to renewable fuel.

In the lead up to Paris hosting COP21 in December 2015, the prime minister said 2015 would be a “year that counts.” for France.
