New research has found that people do not recycle as much when they are out and about.

Although 93% of local residents in the UK recycle at home, a mere quarter of those do it on the go.

People said they would recycle more if they had better access to facilities and more than half believe the local council is responsible for providing these.

More than 60% said they would be more likely to recycle on the go if they were rewarded.

The survey of 3,367 people was done by insights agency Opinion Matters for Greenredeem, the firm behind a recycling reward scheme.
