German utility RWE has completed the sale of its 37MW solar power plant in the UK.

The Kencot solar farm, sold to Foresight Solar Fund, is located on a former wartime airbase around 20 miles west of Oxford and was connected to the grid last year.

Built by Conergy, the project has 144,000 panels and generated enough electricity to power around 10,000 homes.

Foresight’s portfolio now features 10 operational assets totalling 231MW, with “several further large project acquisitions currently under consideration”.

The company’s investment adviser, Foresight Group, now manages £1 billion of solar assets across the UK, US and Southern Europe.
