Salary – £48,207 – £51,045 p.a.

This new role responds to the council’s growing energy project portfolio and will lead on the delivery of our energy efficiency and decentralised energy capital projects. Islington Council is characterised as a UK local authority that both develops and delivers capital projects in-house, using external and significant internal capital funding – reflecting the high political priority placed on our work.

Our portfolio currently includes installing multi-million pound solar PV and external solid wall insulation projects, and expanding our exciting and truly innovative award-winning Bunhill District Heating & Power project to supply buildings with heat from secondary, waste heat sources in the borough including electricity substations, the canal and the London Underground. This project is supported by funding from the EU FP7 Smart Cities programme and has partners across Europe. The role also leads on developing our ambitious borough-wide district heating policy and programme.
