An eco-friendly company has bagged loads of cash to spread its green message.

The firm ‘Bag It Don’t Bin It’ (BIDBI) in Yorkshire has been around since 2008, with a green aim to make fair trade, sustainable canvas bags.

Now it’s received cash from an unlikely source: a steel company.

The funding of £88,000 comes from Tata Steel subsidiary UK Steel Enterprise, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Keith Williams from UK Steel Enterprise said: “BIDBI has developed a product that offers business a way to lower their carbon footprint and market their business.

CEO of BIDBI Julia Gash said: “This investment funding will allow us to purchase print machinery and take additional market share, particularly targeting those from the cultural industries sectors which is our biggest growth area.”
