Solar power plants with a total capacity of up to 100MW are to be built in the UK.

Japanese solar firm Frontier announced its subsidiary, Solar Frontier Europe signed the agreement with renewable German company New Energy for the World (NEW).

Construction of the first project of the 100 MW pipeline will begin in the third quarter of 2015. The land and grid connection has already been secured.

CEO of Solar Frontier, Atsuhiko Hirano said: “Solar Frontier is going global as part of our long-term growth strategy and the UK is a key market for us.”
