Canary Wharf will trial two technologies as part of a project that aims to find some of the best emerging smart city products.

Demand Logic and SEaB Energy have won the second phase of the Cognicity Challenge, bagging £50,000 each.

Demand Logic helps businesses reduce their electricity use by “intelligently” monitoring and controlling non-essential output, helping save money and carbon emissions.

SEaB Energy’s technology converts food waste into green energy and water onsite.

They will both deploy their technologies on the Canary Wharf estate in east London.

Sir George Iacobescu, Chairman and Chief Executive of Canary Wharf Group said: “These ground-breaking solutions will deliver real value, long into the future, to our operations as well as to the workers and future residents of Canary Wharf.”
