Two new funding projects to help businesses install green measures and save £2.9 billion a year have been announced.

Resource Efficient Scotland, a support programme funded by the Scottish Government, will provide companies loans of up to £100,000 to improve their resource efficiency.

Through the Implementation Grant Fund and SME Loan Fund projects, businesses can upgrade their industrial processes to reduce water and waste usage, install biomass boilers as well as more efficient heating and lighting systems.

Marissa Lippiatt, Head of the Resource Efficient Scotland said: “Making resource efficiency a priority doesn’t just benefit the environment. It can also lead to cost savings and a real competitive advantage.”
