Mitsubishi Corporation has officially opened a solar array in Nagasaki City in western Japan.

The Nagasaki Tadewara Mega Solar project has a generation capacity of 13.2MW and is expected to be operating for the next 20 years.

The company said it used 3D scanners to align the solar panels to get the best sunlight reception.

The project, which was completed last month, is being operated in co-operation with another Japanese company called Toda Corporation.
