The gas system is balanced due to a drop in demand and a reduction in LNG sendout, according to npower’s daily market report.

Demand has fallen as a result of the rise in temperatures.

CCGT demand has increased to 29mcm and the Interconnector is exporting at 26mcm.

Steven Walker from npower’s optimisation desk said: “Wind load factors will tumble from the weekend to below 25% across the week.”

Solar generation is expected to reach more than 5GW this weekend, however it is “set to dip next week”, he added.

There has been no change in interconnector flows.

The oil market is trading at $62 a barrel (£40/Bbl).

Greece has delayed its payment and said it will now pay back June instalments to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in one lump sum at the end of this month.
