Gamesa has won an order to supply turbines for five UK onshore wind projects.

Renewable Energy Generation Limited (REG) will receive 19 turbines with a total capacity of 38MW for its wind projects.

They are expected to generate 92,000MWh of electricity  in total every year.

The cost of the French Farm, Rodbaston, Brackagh Quarry, Mynydd Portref and Hallburn Farm is estimated at £48 million, stated REG.

Gamesa will build, commission and be responsible for the maintenance of the turbines.

Andrew Whalley, CEO of REG said: “These five new projects will more than double our own-operated wind capacity in the UK to 72.7MW.”
