An investment company has bought three UK solar farms in a joint venture totalling 34MW.

The 15MW Atherstone and 10MW Southam plants are located in Warwickshire and the 9MW Paddock Wood farm is in Kent.

Jersey-based firm Foresight Solar Fund Limited will own the majority of the stakes: Atherstone: 78%, Paddock Wood: 59%, Southam: 70%. The portfolio is co-owned by community energy company Big60Million.

All three solar farms were connected to the grid in March 2015 and have received the Renewable Obligation Certification.

The government has plans to cut solar and biomass subsidies in a bid to lower bills.
