EDF has raised a total of €135,000 (£94,728) for a wind project in France through its crowdfunding campaign.
The cash will be used to finance pre-construction studies for the 20MW Bois de Belfays wind farm.
It will consist of 10 turbines and construction is expected to start next year.
People from six municipalities of the Vosges Mountain supported the campaign, which surpassed its initial target of €100,000 (£70,169).
Emmanuel Jaclot, Deputy CEO – Strategy, M&A and France at EDF Energies Nouvelles, said: “We are delighted with the success of this first crowdfunding campaign in France, which reflects people confidence in our wind farm projects. We hope that the campaign will pave the way for other innovative initiatives of this kind allowing the local population to take part in our projects.”
