The UK gas system is still oversupplied this morning, according to npower’s daily market report.

The linepack is currently forecast to close 13mcm long.

Langeled flows have dropped further this morning to 19mcm due to processing problems at Troll gas field.

Sarah Astley from npower’s optimisation desk said: “Compensating for this however is an increase in LNG flows with South Hook ramping up considerably to above 60mcm.

“This is the highest level seen since 2012 and double the level seen last week.”

Storage sites are currently nominating net injections of 10mcm.

The power system remains healthy with peak margin forecast of more than 10GW. Wind generation has risen to 1.7GW.

Ms Astley added: “The wind forecast has increased for the next couple of days, with generation expecting to increase to a peak of 3.8GW tomorrow evening.”

Oil prices have declined further today, currently trading at $48.4 a barrel (£31/Bbl).
