DONG Energy and ScottishPower Renewables have sold £269 million of transmission assets at a UK offshore wind farm.

West of Duddon Sands Transmission, a joint venture between Macquarie Corporate Holdings (50%) and 3i Infrastructure (50%), bought the assets.

They include the onshore and offshore substation and the export cables.

The wind farm is located around 15km off Walney Island, Cumbria, in the Irish Sea in the UK.

It has 108 wind turbines which have a capacity of 389MW – enough to power more than 270,000 households each year.

DONG Energy and ScottishPower Renewables will provide operations and maintenance services to the transmission link.
