A leasing company in Poland is receiving up to €50 million to develop sustainable projects.

BZ WBK Lease will use the loan for sustainable energy equipment and machinery.

The fund comes from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support investments in sustainable projects of local small and medium-sized enterprises.

According to the EBRD, only one third of companies in Poland undertake energy savings although the majority recognise the importance of reducing costs.

Noel Edison, Director of Insurance and Financial Services at the EBRD said: “As the global economic climate remains challenging, cost reduction related to energy expenses remains critical for companies to succeed.”
