The UK gas system is flat, according to npower’s daily market report.

The linepack is forecast at 8mcm short as demand is rising.

That’s because exports via the interconnector are increasing nominated at 47mcm.

Tim  Carter from npower’s Optimisation Desk said: “Other domestic and CCGT demand is roughly flat with yesterday but it does mean total UK demand is over 210mcm today, 25% higher than seasonal normal levels.”

 

On the power system, peak margins are under 10GW.

Wind is currently generating 1.5GW.

Mr Carter added: “A level which will be pretty consistent for the next 48 hours or so.”

Brent oil is currently trading at $47.5 per barrel.

Mr Carter said: “Watch out for API [American Petroleum Institute] crude inventory data providing direction later today.”
