A bank in the Slovak Republic is receiving funding worth €15 million (£10.95m) to support sustainable projects in the country.

It will use the loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to help private companies develop renewable and energy efficient projects.

The EBRD states despite “significant” improvements in energy and greenhouse gas emissions in the last decade, there are still some improvements to make.

It expects projects supported by the fund will help reduce around 40,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.
