The gas system is 10mcm undersupplied due to flow disruptions, according to npower’s daily market report.

The Norwegian outage at Skarv gas field was expected to end today but has now been extended until Friday. As a result Gassco has cut Norwegian flows by 40mcm with the Langeled pipeline now nominating 15mcm.

Despite the short gas system the UK’s Interconnector exports to Belgium have increased to 30mcm.

Wind is generation 1GW and is not expected to increase and solar is expected to produce just above 2.2GW this afternoon.

Alex Guiot from npower’s optimisation desk said: “The Dutch interconnector is importing at full capacity while the French is slowly coming back after being stopped yesterday.”

Oil is currently trading at $48.86 a barrel (£31.57/Bbl).

The pound is worth €1.36.
