Chinese solar firm Hanergy has lost a contract to distribute its solar panels in IKEA’s European stores.

The axe of the three-year partnership comes as the solar firm is investigated by Hong Kong’s stock market regulator.

In a statement IKEA said: “A new business model has been decided upon, which includes the decision not to renew the contract with Hanergy Solar UK when their current contract ends on 1st November 2015.”

The furniture retail giant said its priority now is to work collaboratively with Hanergy Solar UK during the phase out.
