A UK co-operative aims to raise £2.8 million to develop three community solar projects.

Bristol Energy Co-op is looking to develop two ground-mounted projects with capacities of 4.2MW and 4.6MW near Puriton in Somerset.

Solar rooftops worth 500KW will also be installed across Bristol.

People can invest between £50 to £100,000 for a share of the projects until 23rd November.

The initiative comes after the UK Government closed the consultation on reducing support for solar projects via the Feed-in Tariff last week.

Bristol is the European Green Capital City this year.
