Renewable generation reached 16% of the UK energy mix this week, according to Inenco’s Y report.

That has resulted in reduced gas demand along with warm temperatures, demand for gas has been reduced.

Kayleigh Winstanley, Energy Trader said: “In line with this we’ve seen contracts reach new lows.”

The UK gas system is 3% oversupplied which has also reduced prices.

Norwegian flows as well as those from South Hook have recovered following recent outages.

Three LNG cargoes are also expected to arrive this week.

Ms Winstanley added: “With the system being in such comfort I would be holding on both fixed and flexible contracts with the anticipation of seeing some new lows.”
