A Christmas tree powered by renewable energy has been launched in Italy.

Its lights are powered by the energy produced from three spinning  bikes.

The tree, located in a museum in Florence, has a system which generates electricity by transforming the kinetic energy produced when people are riding the bikes into electricity.

People can ride the human-powered Christmas tree until 6th of January. Italian wind energy company WindKinetic and gas firm Enegan are responsible of the project.
