The International Energy Agency (IEA) has briefed the Indian Prime Minister on the global energy outlook.
Executive Directive Fatih Birol travelled to the Indian state of Delhi this week to meet Narendra Modi at his request.
They also discussed the nation’s energy prospects and the implications to the world.
Both took to social media to share their thoughts.
The IEA’s ‘India Energy Outlook’ revealed the country is set to contribute more than any other nation to the rise in global energy demand in the next 25 years.
“Against the backdrop of low prices for oil, gas and coal, the participants discussed Indian energy markets; energy security and investments; environmental challenges; the role of oil, gas coal and renewables and the implications of India’s growing energy demand,” the IEA stated.
