One of E.ON’s start-up company has started delivering smart energy solutions across Germany.

Digimondo provides an energy network which consists of antenna sensors and communication chips through which information flows to devices and applications.

The technology can identify places where there is lack of electricity, allow consumers to read their gas and electricity meters remotely and control streetlights.

E.ON claims it  has “succesfully” installed in Berlin and Hamburg.

The firm will now deliver it to Munich, Stuttgart, Cologne, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Essen.

Marcus Walena, Founder of Digimondo said: “This will help cities and towns to reduce costs and find ways to improve their infrastructure. Cost effective data communications will better enable cities to meet the challenges of the future.”
