A film festival powered by energy generated from bikes is taking place in Brazil.
The ‘Cine Pedal Brasil’ festival is a free outdoor screening of films which projects movies thanks to the energy produced by the audience while they are pedalling their bikes.
The festival, created by Inffinito Brazilian Film Festival, aims to promote the use of clean energy in different cities of the country such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
It provides 10 bikes plus 10 supports where people can park their own bicycles and a manual pedal for children.
During the event the organisation’s goal is to generate 1,300W of electricity, which is enough to power the projection of the film.
