Funding worth €7 million (£6m) is being provided to help the Southeast Asian region develop climate-resilient projects.

The money from the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) will be part of a newly established multi-donor trust fund administered by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

It will support the region’s works to strengthen climate adaptation and mitigation and improve their preparedness in terms of design and procurement for impacts.

James Nugent, Director General of ADB’s Southeast Asia Regional Department said: “Southeast Asia is highly vulnerable to climate change so ensuring that projects build in climate resilience will deliver both economic and social dividends for the region’s people.”
