The UK’s largest provider of EV charging stations has signed a two-year contract to keep batteries topped up at Formula E, the all-electric racing championship.

Chargemaster will provide charging infrastructure at the world’s first fully-electric single-seater racing series again following a successful partnership in the previous season.

The series, which features 12 races spread around the world, has recently caught the attention of three major vehicle manufacturers. Audi, Jaguar and Mercedes-AMG have all confirmed they intend to have teams joining the series in the near future.

Chargemaster also works directly with the host cities to establish charging infrastructure in each location, with the aim of boosting awareness and making it easier for local people to adopt EV technologies themselves.

Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, said: “We are delighted to renew our existing partnership with Chargemaster to assist with wireless charging infrastructure for our official course cars. Formula E is a series dedicated to promoting pioneering technologies and with the support of Chargemaster we are able to provide course cars with innovative wireless charging capabilities.”

London hosted the second season finale of the championship earlier this year.
