The UK gas system is trading softer this morning, according to npower’s daily market report.

The linepack is forecast to close 2mcm long as temperatures are getting closer to seasonal normal levels.

Rodney Johnson from the Optimisation Desk said: “Temperatures are at around 1°C below seasonal normal levels and set to stay below normal levels until Wednesday.”

Power demand is at around 48GW.

Wind generation is forecast to reach 1GW while solar will be at 2GW later today.

The French interconnector is flowing 1GW into France and will flow into the UK during the evening at full capacity.

Brent oil is trading at $53.55/bbl (£42.84/bbl).

The pound is valued at €1.18.
