The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Committee is to question Greg Clark about the work of the department next week.

It will be his first appearance before the Committee since being appointed as BEIS Secretary earlier this year.

The Committee will focus on the energy and climate change briefs, including the department’s efforts to tackle fuel poverty, levies on household bills, the Hinkley Point C approval and the impact of Brexit on the UK’s climate priorities.

Mr Clark will also face questions on 14th December about the government’s forthcoming industrial strategy and the Green Paper on corporate governance.

Last month the Committee launched an inquiry into Brexit negotiation priorities for energy and climate change policies.

The winners of the government’s Capacity Market auction for delivery in 2020/21 have been announced today.
