Company Overview:

The Group was found with one specific goal – to establish themselves as a key player in the liberalised energy market. The Group is now a Top 10 operator in that market, with annual revenues of over £1.4 billion and a duel-fuel base of 180,000 customers. Over the past 10 years, they have grown internationally, as well as developing into the UK. They aim to enter the UK consumer and enterprise dual-fuel energy retail markets i.e. supplying gas and electricity to UK homes and businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build pricing models that support tariff decisions
  • Understand direct costs, margin and contribution
  • Understand direct costs, margin and contribution
  • Build insight into competitor behaviour by analysing their pricing
  • Understand implications on wider financial reporting
  • Ensure pricing information is delivered, accurate, and implemented appropriately across the business and externally.
  • Provide to the commercial team, regular reports on market and business performance.
  • Managing testing of systems to ensure customers are charged and quoted correctly.
  • Provide decision support through understanding customer behaviour as well as the competitor and regulatory environment.
  • Manage third party data provider relationships
  • Proactive approach required including improvement suggestions, opportunity identification.
  • Reactive approach responding to ad-hoc requests, pricing checks etc.
  • Provide support to key companywide initiatives such as systems development, cross-channel analysis, company performance analysis and reporting

Experience, Qualifications & Key Attributes

  • Educated to degree level with a proven numerical background either via study or practical experience.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage deliverables whilst maintaining a high quality of work
  • Good at building relationships across teams and a confident communicator
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong excel modelling skills
  • Can demonstrate a passion for customers and understanding of their requirements
