Our client, a global energy and utilities management consultancy, seeks an Account Director to join their team. Reporting into the Group Account Director, this role will have the following responsibilities:
- Owning and delivering the long term strategy and business plan to deliver business growth within the account
- Developing long term trusted-advisor relationships with CXO / Director level stakeholders in the assigned customer account
- Understanding the key drivers, challenges and investment plans of the customer account, and working with cross-functional internal teams to devise appropriate services/solutions
- Leading all pre-sales efforts with the assigned customer account – from opportunity identification to deal closure
- Working with the delivery business units to assemble the right team for each assignment
- Forecasting and tracking key account metrics on an ongoing basis (order book, revenue, P&L, employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction)
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- 12-15 years of consulting / engineering / operations experience in a regulated sector
- Managing a customer account of up to £10m revenue per annum
- Construction and negotiation of deals larger than £5m through proactive identification of opportunity and consultative selling
- P&L management
- Building and nurturing senior client relationships (C-level or exec)
- Tendering and bid management
- Utilities sector experience – preferably water
- Delivering business growth in excess of 100% per annum
- Devising innovative service lines in response to market needs
- Working understanding of legal agreements and contracts
- Working in the seed teams of entrepreneurial organisations
The salary for the Account Director will be £70,000 – £80,000 base with a car allowance and bonus on top. The location is home based however you must be based in the Northwest of England in order to be considered for the position. Please get in touch with Catherine McLean at McLean Ross to discuss.
